Palworld beginner guide
Haven Collective runs a Palworld server built for co-op: boosted rates so the early grind goes quickly, no fighting other players, and a small set of rules that keep everyone's bases and Pals safe. This guide covers how to join, what the server settings change, and how to get a good start in your first hour.
Joining the server
No mods are needed. From the Palworld title screen choose Join Multiplayer Game. At the bottom of the server list there is a box for an address: type palworld.havencollective.co.uk:7004 and press Connect. The :7004 on the end is the port and has to be included.
You can see whether the server is up and how many people are on before you launch, on the Palworld page and in the Palworld player count channel on our Discord. Both update every few minutes.
What the server settings mean
3x EXP. You level roughly three times faster than on default settings, so you unlock technology and better Pals much sooner.
3x gathering and 3x enemy drops. Trees, rocks and ore give three times as much, and defeated Pals and enemies drop three times as much. Building and crafting stop being a chore.
1.5x capture rate. Pal Spheres succeed more often, so catching the Pals you want takes fewer throws.
1.5x Pal work speed. Pals at your base craft, mine, plant and transport faster.
Half hunger and half weight. You and your Pals get hungry half as quickly, and items weigh half as much, so you can carry more before you slow down.
Up to 20 Pals working per base. Plenty of room for a full production line.
When you die you drop your items but keep your equipment. Your weapons, armour and accessories stay on you. What was in your bag stays where you fell, so go back for it.
Your first hour
Pick up stones, wood and fibre straight away and build a Primitive Workbench: it is where you craft your first tools, a weapon and Pal Spheres. Spheres need Paldium Fragments, which you mine from the glowing blue rocks found near water.
Catch a few early Pals that work well at a base. Ones with handiwork, gathering and transporting skills save you hours later on. With the capture boost, weaken a Pal a little and throw from behind for the best chance.
Place a Palbox where you want your first base. It sets the base area and lets you assign Pals to work there. Build away from other players' bases, boss arenas and fast travel points (see the rules below).
Set up food early: a Berry Plantation and a Feed Box keep your Pals working. Half hunger makes this easier, but it does not remove it.
Spend your technology points as you level. 3x EXP means you will have more points than you expect, so check the technology menu often.
Playing alongside everyone else
This is a PvE co-op world, so the rules are mostly about respecting other people's space and work:
Co-op only: no griefing other players or their Pals.
Leave room around other bases.
Keep boss arenas and fast travel points clear.
Other players' chests, Pals and crops are theirs.
No duplication or other exploits.
The rules that apply on every Haven Collective server are on the rules page.
Getting help and finding people
Join our Discord and pick Palworld when it asks which games you play. That unlocks #pal-chat for talking to other players, #pal-info for announcements and #base-showcase for showing off your builds. If something has gone wrong with your character or a base, or you want to report a player, open a support ticket so it stays on record.
